Phoenix, AZ (March 20th, 2021) –   Last Saturday Century Marine, LTD and Centurion Boats hosted the first event in a new series called Women Making Waves. Female water sports enthusiasts met at Lake Pleasant Marina in North Phoenix to take part in on-the-water boating lessons instructed by Century Marine GM Melanie Bosley Bloomfield and Pro Wake Surfer Nicole Hudson.

Participants spent the day learning how to launch and load their boats, dock and tow riders.  Due to the ever-increasing number of boaters on the water these days, this gave the opportunity to focus on safety while performing these everyday normal tasks that can become stressful in live environments.

There was a diverse group of women in attendance in terms of their pre-existing boating knowledge.  Some were starting completely new and fresh, while others were there to brush up on a few select skills.  All in all, it was a great opportunity to be able to lean on and learn from other participates who were facing common fears about handling their own boats.  By the end of the day the nerves were lessened, and the smiles and confidence of each lady made it clear that the event was a great success.

Throughout the day attendees were heard saying things like:

“Whoa!!! I can’t believe I just did that,”

“Have to say that felt really empowering!”

“I can’t wait to go home and practice,”

“Today has been amazing,”

“I’m feeling confident that I got this!”

Women Making Waves is another amazing effort that’s encapsulated by Centurion Boat’s We Wake Waves campaign. We Wake Waves is all about making lives better in the lives of our families, our communities, and our world with our boats on or near the water. Century Marine and Centurion Boats are excited for this new series and we look forward to the next event coming soon.  Follow the series on Facebook at @womenmakingwaves2021 and keep an eye out for upcoming event dates!
