Career Highlights

Biography Wakesurfer

I grew up wakeboarding in the ocean behind my grandpa’s boat, in Beaufort NC. When he sold his house in 2011 he gave us his 15-foot skiff to take to lake. We started going to the lake and sold that for an old Malibu, more directed toward wakeboarding. One day my dad surprised us with a wakesurfing board out on the lake. We stuck everyone in the back corner of the boat and learned how to surf that tiny wave. Ever since them my family was hooked. In 2013 we got a 2013 Centurion SV233 and continued having loads of fun surfing the endless wave. Through that summer I started riding a Soulcraft board and progressed my riding. I am now looking forward to the North Carolina weather warming up, getting a new 2014 Centurion Enzo FX44, and getting ready to competing in the 2014 season.

Where did you grow up?

Cary, North Carolina

Older brother, Gibson is 21

What are your goals?

Have fun, and be as good as I can be

3 things you point out to someone at a boat show about Centurion?

It is the official boat of the World Wakesurfing Championship; they have to use the best wakesurfing boat for that competition. RAMFILL ballast allows you fill up and surf in 29 seconds. There is no boat that has anywhere close to as much height, length and power behind an Enzo.

When it’s too cold to surf

Beliefs? Outlooks on life?

Go after JOY: Jesus, others, and then yourself.

Favorite rider and why?

Keenan Flegel. Before I was wakesurfing I watched videos of him killing it, only dreaming of being able to do half of the things I was seeing. As I progressed I kept watching him get even better, and it made me want to learn more and more tricks.

What inspired you to begin wakesurfing?

I loved ocean surfing, but living three hours from the beach made it hard to surf. Once I saw you tube videos of Keenan Flegel, James Walker, Drew Danielo, and tons of other rides killing it I was dying to try it out. After a couple of hard crashes wakeboarding I was all in for surfing.

How often do you get to ride?

When the season is right, I get to surf about 3 days a week. Most of it is bringing friends on the lake and teaching people to surf and just having fun out on the water!

Who would you like to thank or give props to?

My parents! They have always been super supportive of everything I do. My dad loves the lake, and hanging out on the water. Whenever I want to surf I can call him he is always down to head out to the lake. Not to mention he also rips and loves wakesurfing. Brian and Jay Baker, for helping me and teaching me new tricks. Jeff Wahlers at Soulcraft boarding, for being the first one to reach out and support me in my surfing, and for being one of the coolest and most laid back guys in the industry.
