Centurion began as a high-performance California dream of drag boat champion Rick Lee. Shortly thereafter, that dream was realized when the first factory appeared on the towboat radar in 1979 in Merced. It was here that Centurion began its long tradition of innovation and attention to detail. Since it's founding, the factory has evolved into a popular forum for designers and craftsmen to collaborate and talk shop.
And for good reason. In nearly 30 years, the Fineline Industries West factory has grown to include a 121,000 square-foot facility, complete with CNC machines and on-site lake testing. More recently, Fineline Industries expanded across the United States with the opening of a state-of-the-art facility in Woodland, North Carolina, in February 2000. There, a 40-acre site provides another onsite boat test lake facility complete with a record tournament-approved slalom course, and lakefront housing development for key personnel. Fineline East houses the most modern boat construction process in the watersports industry. Each Centurion ski and wakeboard boat is vigorously lake-tested at one of these private lakes. During testing, every boat engine is fine-tuned, components are lightened and speed adjustments are made using state-of-the-art computer and GPS technology. Today, with over 100 dealers in the United States and Canada, our expansion has allowed us to deliver a quality ski and wakeboard boat through a quality shopping experience.
