Early wake surfer, and film producer Duncan Lee’s long-awaited History of Wake Surfing video will premier at the World Wake Surfing Championship (WWSC) on Thursday, September 27 at 9pm at The BlueWater Resort & Casino’s outdoor Cantina in Parker, Arizona. Upon the premier conclusion, the film will be available for every wake surfer in the world to watch via download at YouTube.com under the title The History of Wake Surfing. (After the WWSC premiere the movie can be accessed publicly at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KWYZf3A7aas&feature=youtu.be)

The History of Wake Surfing film has been an ongoing project for more than a year for producer Duncan Lee of DLee Productions, Inc. from Truckee, CA. Duncan’s primary market has been serving video production for the snow sports industry in the Tahoe area with new creative video capturing methods and astonishing video editing. Two years ago, Sumner Lee and Rick Lee of Centurion Boats approached Duncan about the idea of documenting the early years of the sport. An accomplished wake surfer, wakeboarder, and lifetime waterman, Duncan jumped at the opportunity for telling the story of the early years of wake surfing’s growth from his point of view. The History of Wake Surfing is finally complete and ready for viewing.

Duncan said, “This has been a great project that has helped me renew old relationships from the early days when only a few of us were wake surfing. Today, wake surfing is the fastest growing watersports segment and I’m just stoked to have been a part of it all. Going back to those individuals that were there from the beginning and getting their story recorded has been really cool.”

The film focuses dually on documenting the history of wake surfing while displaying some of the most talented wake surfers in the world. Interviews were conducted with wake surfing pioneers such as Tim Lopes, Jeff Page, Mark Sher, Clint Preisendorfer, Rick Lee and Todd Gaughan. Riding segments are included from some of the most progressive wake surfers in the world.

The video will premier free of charge on multiple large screens for all spectators, athletes and media attending the Centurion Boats World Wake Surfing Championship in Parker, AZ at the BlueWater Resort & Casino’s waterside Cantina. Rick Lee, president of Centurion Boats said, “We are so pleased that the video was completed in time for this year’s World Championship. After title sponsoring this event from its inception, we knew that there is no better place to premier a film like this than at the Worlds. This event has the largest contention of wake surfing athletes and fans in the world.”

The World Wake Surfing Championship will award $55,000 in cash and prizes – the largest pro purse in the history of wake surfing. The event will be broadcast via webcast on www.TheCWSA.org beginning Thursday, September 27 and concluding with the awards ceremony on September 29.
